The Leaves of Change - Switching Camera Systems - Nikon to Canon
Time is a funny thing. Like how the last post was WAY too long ago, or how my professional life has changed. Jobs have been changed, computers have been upgraded, and my once loved Nikon d3400 seemed recently more lackluster.
Don't get me wrong - I'm still a huge fan of how badass the d3400 is for it's size and price. With that being said, and the aforementioned job change, I've been using an older Canon Rebel T3 for some shots for work and I was blown away by how much better photos I was able to take than my older Nikon kit! On paper, the Nikon should be blowing away the much older T3, but it happened.
So, after a BUNCH of research, and so deep digging, I bit the bullet and picked up a Canon Rebel T6 and the equivalent lenses that I had on the Nikon. I'm going to play with it some more, but the initial thoughts are leaning towards selling the Nikon and continuing to rock the Canon.
Now - I know what a lot of you are going to say - "fanboy..fanboy..blah blah blah.."..and you might be right...to an extent. Mostly, though, I was looking to take my skills up a notch and get some time shooting with a friend during some gigs, and lens swapping is difficult between systems. So not only did I get a better (to me in my initial testing) image and a happier experience, but I get the chance to get my hands on some sweet, sweet, L glass to try until I can afford it myself.
Now I didn't go with the APS-C to do second shooting exclusively, as I also was able to score a SWEET deal on a used 5D mk ii WITH a battery grip AND three batteries! That being said..I think I'm in the beginning stages of a long term infatuation with the Cannon ecosystem.
